You never know how much you need your hand....

...until you can't use it anymore.  I had a flare up with my MS mid February that caused my left hand to be pretty much useless.  I had a really hard time typing, holding anything, grabbing anything, tying shoes, buttoning buttons...pretty much doing anything with it.  So this made doing my job really hard to do.  I was either typing one handed or using the speech recognition program (which works about 50% of the time).  So it lasted about 2 weeks and my hand was working pretty good and then lost it again :(.  So it is just barely coming back the second go around so I thought I would take advantage and post to the blog before it crashes again (but hopefully not).

Let's see, I will try to catch up on everything that has been going on.

Aspen - She has been up to her same old business.  We did her SEP and she is doing great in school.  She is reading on a 3rd grade level right now, which she doesn't love the chapter books.  The only way I can keep her reading is the kite festival.  She still has a month to go and we shall see if she reads enough minutes to get a kite.  She also has friended this cute girl, Audra.  I had a chance to chat with Wendie, Audra's mom, and found out that Aspen has been a life saver in class.  Audra has high functioning autism and this is her first year in a non special ed classroom.  Aspen has been helping her all year round.  We have been able to get the two together outside of school a few times and now that is all Aspen wants to do.  She is still liking dance and loves gymnastics.  I think she is excited for her dance recital and wearing her cute outfit.  She is also back in soccer this spring.  She just had her first game yesterday.  She is kind of just hanging out in the background again, but did get a couple of good kicks in.

Colten - He is still doing good in school.  He is figuring out the months of the year and days of the week.  And that teacher (Mrs. Seely) is the law about everything.  When I try to do something different, he gets mad and says "no that is not how teacher says to do it".  But what kindergartner doesn't do that?  He did get to play basketball this past winter.  And was lucky enough to get to be on the same team as Jeramiah.  It was definitely 90% of the team's first year, but I think the kids had fun.  Colt really improved over the season.  They only won one game but it was a good one game.  Jeramiah scored 95% of our shots all season.  I don't think that Colt got any baskets but we will be working on that during the off season.  He is also in soccer this spring and loving it.  He had his first game as well yesterday and scored the first goal of the season.  He is still very defensively minded.  The guy coaching actually put him with some weaker players from our team because is able to stop the goal from going to into the net.  We still ended up losing but it is great to see him in action.  Colt also graduated up to an orange belt in karate.  I love seeing him do his karate.  And his mind set has changed in regards to it.  He no longer complains about going, that could be because I pulled him back to one night a week.  But I am glad that he is enjoying it.

As for the family.  We took a quick trip to Bryce National Park over President's Day weekend.  It was a little chilly but we were able to get two short hikes in.  We will have to go back when the weather is warmer.  Then we have also had to move due to our rental being foreclosed on.  So we spent a long month moving, and of course the weekend we moved the big stuff, it rained the entire time.  We had to downsize, so we did a yard sale where we did get rid of a lot of stuff but still had a trailer full to go to the DI.  We are not in our new place and unpacking the many boxes and totes.  Hopefully we get to them all before we have to move again.
