More shooting, more instacare and more football

Last Sunday, Colten, Aspen, Annika, Zac and I went shooting.  Well, Colten, Aspen and Zac actually shot.  Colten just shot my pistol and Aspen finally delivered on Zac's request to shoot an AR-15.  She wasn't a fan of it but we are super proud of her trying.

On Monday, Colten had gone to work with Zac to clean out some window wells for Patsy but his shoulder was giving him trouble trying to get out of the wells so I took him to instacare just to make sure there wasn't something more serious going on.  This instacare trip was quicker than our last experience.  The doctor x-rayed his shoulder but said it was a slight shoulder separation.  That just means we have to play the waiting game :(

On Tuesday night, Aspen, Colten and I headed out to Tuacahn to see "The Count of Monte Cristo".  It was a musical play of it.  The actors did a great job but it wasn't one of my favorites.  Colten has never seen the movie and he had a hard time following along the storyline.  Aspen said it was good.

Wednesday was also my first day of school.  So, I did my hair lol.  Wednesday night Zac wanted to take Annika and Channing out.  The plan was to go get dinner and then do Fiesta Fun.  Well, Channing wasn't having a good day and was throwing fits.  It took longer to get out of town than planned and we had to stop by Home Depot so we didn't make it to Fiesta Fun.  The girls got to have a flavor-burst ice cream which they enjoyed.

Friday night was Hurricane football.  We took Aspen, Colten and Tashlee to the game.  Colten went and played with teammates during the first half.  Tashlee went and stayed by the Big Chill sno shack place because her friend was working and she got a job there for the rest of the season.  Aspen and her friend Kailey sat by us during the first half and went to sit with their other friends during the second half.  Hurricane was playing a 2A team and they pretty much demolished them.  I think the final score was like 43-8.  Colten had fun making the tunnel for the varsity's return for the second half.

Saturday I spent a lot of the day working on my project for my master's since I hadn't touched it over the last 2 weeks.  Aspen and Zac went on a daddy/daughter date while Colten and I went to his scrimmages.  Zac and Aspen went to Hu Hot for dinner, out to Christian's to get more crested gecko food, and to Sportsman Warehouse where Zac got Aspen a compound bow.  Colten was pretty bored not being able to play in the scrimmages but he helped keep people's arms warm by throwing the football around.  The scrimmages were against the B teams so Hurricane pretty much dominated and got more play time for the second string players.  One of the moms brought pizza for the boys so they had a little after scrimmage pizza party.

Start of school year 2021-2022...without masks :)

Well, this week started with me going up to Salt Lake for work meetings.  On the way up, I had Sophie Seegmiller as my passenger.  We caught up on life and Chick-fil-A for lunch before heading to our meetings.   After we got done, we headed over to Pro Do, a blow dry hair salon.  This was my first time there as I have never really cared much for doing things with my hair lol.  The girl washed and massaged my hair.  Then blow dried and styled it.  I am not sure what they put in my hair but it actually styled the next day.  After getting our hair done we went to Cubby's for dinner, then TJ Max and Ross.  Finished off the evening with sharing a Waffle Love waffle.  I was tired but man was it fun to get out.  The next day I didn't have to be at meetings until lunch so I went to Krispy Kreme for my free donut before heading over to the meetings.  I was able to talk to a few people about questions I had regarding my new job so that definitely helped.  After the meetings, I headed home.  I made it all the way to Cedar but there was a multi-vehicle crash at exit 31 (four miles from my exit) causing a 2 hour delay.  So, I headed out west to Enterprise to just keep my vehicle moving.  I probably made it home at the same time but was able to keep the car moving.

Thursday was the first day of school for all the kiddos and we were able to ship off every one of them.  First off was Colten.  He did pretty good getting up early and getting ready.  He even did the whole first day of school pictures without complaining too bad lol.  First day of 7th grade...crazy.

Next up was Aspen and Tashlee.  Well, Tashlee was getting a ride to school with a friend and Aspen was riding the bus but they were ready at the same time.  Can't believe we have two freshmen at our house!

Next up was Annika and Channing.  We had a slight melt down with Annika over shoes that their mom bought them but we made it through and Zac was able to drive them in for their first day of third (Annika) and second (Channing) grade.

Then finally it was Friday...yay!!!  Kids get a short day at school so everyone was home early.  We were watching Oaklee and Raven for their first sleepover without mom and dad.  Hollee was a little nervous but hopefully they enjoyed their night away celebrating their anniversary.  Aspen and Tashlee were put in charge of all four little girls while me and the boys went to the Hurricane football game.  It felt so good to be back with football and great to be at Hurricane football.  Hurricane was playing Richfield for their first pre-region game.  Colten was off playing with his teammates for the first half of the game.  Zac and I enjoyed the first half of football.  It looked scary as Hurricane fell 13-0 but then they figured things out.  The little league boys were invited to make a tunnel for the varsity to return from halftime and Colten loved that.  Then we made him sit and actually watch the game with us for the second half.  Hurricane won 28-26 but Richfield definitely made them earn it.

Saturday morning we were all up early to go to Colten's scrimmages.  Similar to last year, Hurricane struggled to find their groove but eventually found it...for a little bit.  Colten had a nice run during one of the games but later injured his shoulder and pretty much sat out the rest of the time.  He did try going in and trying when his should felt better but couldn't block.

We had once again left the little girls in the care of Aspen and Tashlee.  The morning shift didn't go over as well as Friday night and Zac had to go get Annika.  But in all, I think the girls had fun.

As for the rest of our Saturday, I could be found on the couch watching NFL preseason games, while finishing up some work.  Zac joined me once he got back from St. George.  The Broncos looked really good against the Vikings winning 33-6.  Then we watched the Raiders versus the Seahawks for Zac, Raiders won 20-13.  It was a good good Saturday.

And just like that...summer break is over

Well, I have to do a two week catch up first.  So , I had ordered an adapter thing for my phone from Wal-Mart while up in Bear Lake, but the shipping address was Greg and Shelia in Richfield.  So Sunday after church we made a day trip up to visit with them.  Annika and Channing were not behaving good for their mom so they ended up coming with us.  Shout out to Hollee who let us take her mini van so we could all go.  Zac and Colten were excited to go visit Grandpa to show off the AR 15's they had built.  We also got to see Holly and Kody for a little bit.  Great little reunion.  These are a few pictures of the sunset on the way home.

Monday night we went shooting.  I had my hand pistol and the boys had their AR's.  Aspen shot my pistol once and was content picking up the shells from the boys fun.  Zac and Colten didn't have a ton of ammo but were trying to sight in their guns.  It was a fun night.

The next day we got our first baby leopard.  We were all excited.

Thursday brought a couple of things.  First was Colten got a haircut!!!  He hadn't had one since before his birthday and he was in desperate need of one.  I think he is happy with the result and so are the rest of us lol.

Second, I left to go on a mother/daughter trip to go see Jody Moore in Salt Lake.  I made sure that we stopped at the Beaver Creamery for a little snack.  Then we stopped in Santaquin for dinner at the Iceberg.  Man, their food may be a little more expensive but they give you a lot.  We were staying at Bob and Marilyn's.  On Friday, I got up and go headed to Salt Lake while I left my mom in the hands of Marilyn.  Apparently they had a 2.5 hour lunch with Connie lol.  Meanwhile I got into Salt Lake, got parked and into the event just in time.  I love listening to Jody speak and got even got the surprise of hearing from Brad Jensen, another favorite.  Aside from getting a little lost trying to find Chick-fil-
A and the car at the end, it was a great day.  So glad I was able to participate.  Oh and I was able to see the Salt Lake temple which is under construction. A little weird not seeing it in its glory.

When I got home, everyone headed out for dinner at Verg's.  The poor girl that was our waitress was having troubles that night.  I had ordered a chicken salad sandwich with onion rings.  I got a large chicken salad (had to ask for dressing) and a plate of onion rings.  My mom ordered a philly cheesecake sandwich with battered fries.  She got the au jois sauce, the one that comes with a reuben.  Marilyn ordered half chicken steak with battered fries.  She got the steak with 5 regular fries.  And Bob ordered a full chicken steak with white gravy, he got brown.  Everyone elses order got fixed but mine.  I ate the salad and got some help with the onion rings.  We got to watch the flash flood that came through Tooele while we were waiting on our dinner.  After dinner, we drove by the temple site for the Tooele temple.

On the way home my mom and I stopped by Krispy Kreme donuts.  If you show your vaccine card, you get a free glazed donut.  And of course, we stopped by the creamery one more time. And I got some cheese for Zac.

The older kids had been doing the youth conference, which is why I was going north with my mom.  They had a really good time.  I helped get ready for dinner on Saturday night and the whole family ended up getting dinner.  They had ordered Panda Express for dinner and had a lot.  After dinner, the older kids and I headed out for Tuacahn to see "School of Rock".  We were just praying it wasn't going to rain.  But it didn't and the show was great :)

The last week of summer break was spent working on my final class of my masters, Colten helping Zac at work, Aspen slept over at Audra's, MRI for me, new leopard geckos for Annika and Channing, cleaning, swim party for Simister Ortho and relaxing.  Well not sure if the week was relaxing but I am definitely going to relax today.  My MRI went well once I got in the right place.  There might be a new lesion but it wasn't active so I will figure it out when I go in for my appointment in a couple months.  Zac got one of his two beds painted earlier this week, has a few minor things to fix and then will be sending it on its way.  He got the other bed painted yesterday (but don't have any pictures).  Aspen had fun with Audra.  Colten has been doing football practice all week and then slept over at Grady's on Friday night after the party.  Last night, we took the kids to Cross Country diner (finally - we tried to do it at the beginning of summer but Colten broke his arm), pick me up and back home to watch the movie "Signs".  The kids loved the whole night.  Especially when after the movie, we ran up to the shooting range for more practice.  Colten brought his 22 this time and the boys got to shoot their AR's.  Aspen and I just watched and collected their shells.  The kids start school this week and I go back to work tomorrow.  I am working in the high school this year doing their FAST track and part time students.  Wish me luck!  Oh and I forgot a few things.  Before we went to dinner, Zac checked his eggs and found two crested babies, a first.  He is so excited.  Then, I won a drawing for the Focus journal on Instagram.  I had thought about getting one and just never did.  So excited to win two and be able to share one.

Yay...I think I am all caught up :)
