Movies this week :)

This week I was able to go see Top Gun: Maverick with Hollee. It was my second time and her first. She is so great to watch dramatic movies with lol. She loved it just as much as I did.

On Wednesday, the girls and I went over to Hollee's to play with Oaklee and Raven. Turns out Hollee was doing water balloons and everyone had fun. The girls were drenched, some from the water balloons, mainly from Jonah dumping water on them.

Thursday, Zac wanted to take me on a date...like a real fun date (I thought they were all fun). But he took me to see Jurassic World: World Dominion (third and final of that series). Definitely not as good as 1 and 2, but it was nice to see the ending. That was Zac's first theater movie since Avenger's End Game back in 2019 lol. But he did it for me :) Then we went to Dairy Queen for dinner, although we tried a new Mexican restaurant first but they are like every other Mexican/American place in Hurricane and pricey. Then we went to pick up Channing from dance before heading home to watch game 6 of the NBA finals. The Golden State Warriors had a 3-2 lead but game 6 was in Boston so it wasn't a guarantee. The start of the game looked like Celtics were coming back with a vengeance and Warriors could not get a basket. But the Warriors ended up prevailing and won the championship. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have won 4 rings since becoming teammates 10 years ago. Steph won the first MVP of the finals. It was definitely a hard earned championship and it took the whole team to win it.

We had the girls on Friday due to day care being closed. I still had some work to do but they managed on their own. Annika had activity days in the afternoon. Zac wanted to take the girls to St. George to get them some clothes. So we headed down and stopped in at Ross. They were able to find clothes that were their size and not identical to each other. We stopped by Sweet Rolled Taco to grab a treat before heading home. The girls watched an episode of the Mandelorian before heading to bed.

Saturday morning the girls helped me make some donut holes that turned out delicious. Just need to put some cream cheese frosting but they were good as they were. The girls and I headed to Wal-Mart to get some Father's Day gifts for Zac. Zac has been trying to sell this Honda Civic which has mechanical problems. He was finally able to sell it on Saturday night.

Sunday morning, I made Pillsbury cinnamon rolls and we had the left over donut holes...nothing was left. Tashlee is supposed to come over sometime today and then we will head off to church. This afternoon we will open presents and finish the Mandelorian series per Zac's request. Not sure if we'll hear from Aspen and Colten today or not but I think their dad is off for the first time in like 6 years so they can actually spend Father's Day with their dad. One more week until Aspen comes home :)

Week 1 of summer school...for me and the littles that is

Well...it has been quiet in our house this week, aside from when we have Annika and Channing. Monday brought the start of summer school which I am teaching this year for the SOEP program. I spent most of the day making sure that every course was set up and working properly. The rest of the week I just sent emails for the kiddos that hadn't logged in and graded the assignments that I added.  Annika and Channing are also doing summer school at Valley this year. Although they didn't enjoy the idea of summer school, they have said it has been more fun than the regular school year.

Godzilla, our first bearded dragon that we got, learned that he is able to jump and crawl out of his cage. I have discovered him in our kitchen hiding in the corner, behind the trash can and in front of our water dragon tank. I had to return him once and didn't enjoy it at all. After that I left Zac do it. But he finally saw him jump to get leverage over the side so he put some boards on top so now he can't get out. Thank goodness :)

I have been working with Rocket on potty training and kennel training him. I found a girl who has an online program and so I am trying to do that...it's not going well sadly. I got him a smaller kennel, like a cat carrier, in the hopes that he would refrain from doing his business where he sleeps. So far, that isn't working. I love the little guy but man is he stubborn.

Zac and I have spent the past few days watching the 3 Jurassic Park movies and then Jurassic World (we have one more to watch today) so that we can go see the one that just came out. I am pretty sure I never saw the 2nd or 3rd Jurassic Park and have only seen each Jurassic World like one time.

I hope that we'll get to FaceTime with the kids today. The only thing that I know that they have done is go to Lagoon. Oh and Colten has run the last 3 mornings up at his dad's...yay! He did 3 miles the first day and 2 miles the next two days. And it is earlier in the morning so good job Colten!

Well that is it for this week, I know, boring. Just doing a little of work and training Rocket....oh and reading lol.

First week of summer :)

Well one week of summer is in the books. We had a great time watching the Indy 500 with my dad. Zac saw the winner on social media, I think and I asked Siri a question, not remotely related to this year's race, but Siri decided to show me the results anyway. Good thing we didn't share the results with my dad lol. Good time was had by all.

Aspen started her first full week at work, she was scheduled 38.5 hours lol. She was excited to be making money but by the end of the week, I think her feet hurt. But she did it :) Hopefully she gets scheduled like this on the weeks that she is in town.

Colten was busy in the mornings working with Zac or working on sanding a car he needed to paint. After he got done, he was no where to be found lol. Well, he spent some time at the pool and then the rest at his friends house, their pool or playing games with friends. He would come home for dinner and then head back out. A few times he would take Rocket with him.

I spent most of the week watching movies, reading or taking naps. We still haven't figured out my sleep problems but hopefully I can get some answers soon. I start summer school on Monday but it requires no live class and I'll just be encouraging students to work on the class. I did get a summer trim and by trim I mean like 1/2 inch off the bottom and thinning the death out of my hair. The hair dresser did my hair in braids, like when Aspen got her hair cut. So I put our pictures together and asked my friends online...they all agreed that she is definitely my mini me lol.

On Friday, Zac treated the family (and a few friends (who paid for themselves)) to an escape room. Colten has been asking for quite a while but the cost is pretty high. Colten did a good job working this week so we did it as a family. Colten brought Angel and Aspen brought Kailey. We borrowed Hollee's van a d headed out. The escape room was extremely fun. Except I didn't know what to expect so I may have closed a door that popped open thinking it wasn't supposed to open. But with a little help from the workers, we made it out with 2.5 minutes to spare. We had a great time and want to go back to the other room they have.

After the escape room, we headed out to the Fr3nzy store a few stores down. Zac got the wild idea (I think Annika and Channing had something to do with that) to get the bean boozled game. When we got back home, Angel came and played it with us. I got the worst one...either cappuccino or liver & onions. I don't know how either of those are good but I did it and spit it out (liver & onions). Everyone got a good laugh at me lol.

Saturday afternoon Colten had the BYU football camp down in St. George.  I sat and watched him run drills for 2 hours before I headed out.  He was able to get a few pictures with some of the BYU football players, I can't remember them all but I think he got one with the running back and corner back. Grandma and Grandpa Chris picked him up and took him for his birthday dinner at Apollo Burger. After they were done, they went and picked up Channing from the Washington Rec Center for her birthday dinner. She chose McDonald's.

Sunday morning brought taking the kids down to St. George for their bus ride up to their dad's. Aspen is going for 3 weeks and Colten is going up until we go to Bear Lake. Sure is hard to have them go but they are excited to see their dad. I think Colten will be a couple of inches taller than me when we go pick him up. But I hope they have a fun time :) As for me, I hope I can find enough to keep me busy.
