Well June is almost over

I have a love/hate relationship with summer break and June being almost over.  You see if June is over that means it is close to school starting again :( However, with June being almost over that means that the kids are almost home :D . You can see my predicament lol.

A lot of my friends ask me what I do with my free time...whatever I want to do.  First, I have been spending most of my evenings volunteering up at Tuacahn so I can earn tickets for my kids.  I have been doing a before and after shift so I can earn them faster and not have to do shifts when I get my kids back.  So far, I have gotten tickets for "When You Wish" - my favorite of the season.  So I am working on earning points for "The Sound of Music".  Then I might ask the parental unit if they can help out with "Elf" tickets in the winter but we'll see how it goes.  Staying up later than normal is killing me since I wake up at the same time :( But maybe I'll catch up on sleep when the kids get back lol.

I have expanded my volunteering duties...trying on new positions.  I am trying to find the job that requires the least amount of standing possible.  Got a few to choose from.

Then let's see...we finally did our Grandpa's estate sale.  Man did he have a lot of stuff...at least my parents got rid of stuff by selling it.  They did have to take a trip to the DI with what didn't sale.  I had agreed to come help but to ensure I didn't come when it was over they offered to buy me (and Darcee and her kids) breakfast at Bishop's at 6:15 in the morning!!! Another night of little sleep but I got through it.  A funny thing happened after breakfast though when my dad moved the camper out of their driveway.  The camper had been sitting out front for about 4 months so when he pulled forward Michelle saw a dead bird...awe sad.   Well my dad got some paper towels to clean it up and he accidentally squeezed it and its head popped off.  Michelle was a little appalled at that.  The garage sale didn't go over quite a nice as we hoped for.  Not a lot of traffic that Saturday.  I left early to go get my hair cut and trimmed.  But my parents got rid of of what they wanted one way or another lol.

I also had an opportunity to ride along with my friend Cole on his business adventure up to Enterprise.  He delivers these big storage units to people so it was kind of fun seeing how he loads them, unloads them and drive that big truck.

The singles ward had a dance this month, which I totally went to.  It was fun to see some friends, dance off a few calories.  They played more songs from when I was younger so it was a good dance.

Zac and I went for a hike one Saturday morning.  We tried to do the Johnson arch one it was closed so we went to Chuckwala instead.  It was starting to get hot at 8:00 so it was a shorter hike but still fun.

On Father's Day, I actually had a little party at my parents house (since they were gone lol) but of course I wished my dad a Happy Father's Day before they left.  And I got permission first.  It was nice to give some of my single friends a place to go on Father's Day if they weren't with their own family.  I did let Darcee tag along since she was also pretty much single and she helped me clean up the house and get ready for it.

OMGosh, I don't think I have posted about my newest niece!  She was born on June 10th (Jonah's birthday lol . He says he likes it) . I went to the hospital on Tuesday morning to see her and hold her :).  I am so happy for their family.  I also went out to Hollee's to see how she was doing and to visit with my niece's of course.  I held Raven for like 2 hours haha.  It is fun to hold a sleeping baby.

This Friday, Darcee and I were at the gym and she mentioned that she wanted to go see the Manti pageant.  I said well then you had better go tonight or tomorrow cause those are the final two performances ever.  She said well then let's go tonight.  So about 90 minutes later we were on the road to head up to Manit.  We picked up Zac along the way.  It was a fun evening to say the least.  Darcee and Zac provided a 2 hour discussion (which I only contributed here and there) about the Book of Mormon and Bible lol.  The pageant was really good.  We didn't get there early enough to get seats so we snagged a patch of grass.  It wasn't the most comfortable 90 minutes but still worked and we all enjoyed the pageant.  We probably would have driven all the way home but Darcee left her phone at a small town gas station and would have been closed.  So we stayed the night at Greg and Sheila's house and took off first thing in the morning.

All in all it has been a fun couple of weeks by myself.  Only 15 more days until the kids come back.  Hope I can keep myself busy lol

Onto June

Well this past week wasn't as eventful as May was but still a great one.  The kids and I went over to Grandma and Grandpa's last Sunday so they could say goodbye until July.  The Indy 500 was on that day and then kids enjoyed watching it with Grandpa.  Aspen was able to see them one more time before she left.  I actually made our main course in the crock pot so that was fun transporting it over there.  The dinner was great!  Aspen had seconds and even ate it for left overs...that's how I know that she really enjoyed it.

Colten wanted to do another sleep over with Jeramiah and Alijah before he left to his dad's so we had made arrangements for him to go over there.  Well mom had a bunch of food/cleaning supplies from Grandpa's house that she wanted the kids to come look through.  So Darcee, Jay and I headed back over to my parents to sort through what we wanted.  Then I headed home and ended up getting a phone call from Aspen asking if she could sleep over (I had told her that she would want to stay) so I spent the evening by myself.  Monday was Memorial Day so I spent it cleaning up my apartment before going to grab my kids.  We watched a movie together that night (still working on the Marvel movies).

Tuesday morning Aspen got up to go do baptisms with Grandma, Grandpa, Jeramiah and Alijah - Kayleeya may have been there too.  Aspen said that Grandpa baptized all the kids.  What a cool experience for them.  Tuesday night the kids and I watched one more movie - I think we are halfway through them haha.

Wednesday I had to work a little in the morning before we took off for Salt Lake.  The kids will be with their dad until July 8th!  We made pretty good time and made it up there a little before 5 so we went to Keith and Leslie's until 6.  I dropped the kids off to Colleen and told them to have a great summer.  Then I climbed back into the car and saw Aspen's phone charger still plugged into the lighter.  So luckily their dad was down at Primary's for work and we were able to meet up.

I spent the night at Keith and Leslie's and had a good chat with them.  Thursday brought work meetings.  I got a certificate for completing 5 years at Utah Virtual.  In reflecting back on this past year, I have realized that it was my best year teaching ever.  I made a lot of changes this year and going to continue making changes to best help my students.  In fact, that night I met up with 3 of my students for dinner :).  We talked for 2 hours about life and what not.  It was great!.  I was super tired and ready for bed that night.

Friday brought on more meetings to talk about next year.  I was just looking forward to getting out of there.  It is a long drive home and I wanted to beat the traffic.  Luckily, I did pretty good time and made it past exit 82 without blowing a tire.  I made it back safely and had a great trip up north.

Saturday brought a couple of hours babysitting Oaklee while Hollee and Jonah went on a date.  She is so fun at this age.  Her speech is also coming along.  I could decipher most of what she was saying.

I also attended the baby shower for Hollee that was thrown by her friend.  It was small but fun.  I am so excited for Hollee and to have the summer off to help her become a mother of two.
