I got the kids back on Pioneer Day this past week but since I already had plans they just relaxed at the house. I went to watch The Antman and the Wasp with some friends from the Mid-Single Adult ward. I have decided that I need to get out and meet people and have so far loved it.
This past week I was able to take the kids to the library to watch a magic show - they seemed to enjoy it. Colten checked out a how to do magic tricks book afterwards. On Friday, we got to watch Oaklee while Hollee worked. Aspen was in heaven and she did such a great job at actually watching her. Aspen was super tired but she pushed through. We did have to go over to Grandma's to use her pack 'n play for Oaklee's nap. The rest of the time was spent following Oaklee around and trying to get her to dance to whatever movie was playing.
Saturday started out early. Our stake had their Pioneer breakfast. They had yummy pancakes, sausage and fruit. The kids got to see a couple of friends from the ward that they hadn't seen for a few weeks. After the breakfast, we headed off to the park for Colten to do his weigh in and collect football equipment. After that, we went home to clean up the house, for the most part. We went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. The kids had coupons for a free kids meal from school. Colten learned that restaurant mac and cheese isn't the same as what I cook at home lol. Then I dropped the kids off at Sand Hollow pool so I could go watch the new Mission Impossible movie with friends again. Then after dinner, I took Colten to see the Solo: A Star Wars story with my parents. I am kind of movied out lol.
Not much happening as summer winds down and I am perfectly alright with that. I am excited (don't know if ready) to return to work and tackle this new school year like a boss!
Grandpa gave Oaklee some chocolate before her nap. Luckily she still went to sleep.

Blog is officially updated :)
May have taken me all summer but it is done. I have been really enjoying my summer break this year I guess. I have enjoyed volunteering at Tuacahn and seeing the amazing shows they have up there. I have loved listening to some podcasts to help improve myself and how I think. I have just also had myself a lazy summer - aside from going back to the gym (because it is so hot and I am not getting up early) and making sure I get my exercise in. I have truly enjoyed this summer - I think my kids can say the same thing. Just got them back yesterday and ready to wind down summer vacation and get back into some routines!'
Til next time! Hopefully I will keep up each week...fingers crossed.

Bear Lake 2018
Well the last thing I shoved into the summer with my kids is our Bear Lake trip. The kids always love this reunion and this year we had everyone but Darcee up here. We fit 18 people in the top unit - it was tight but we made it work.
So instead of giving a day by day description of what we did I am just going to include the activities we did with pictures.
We made the long trek up to the other end of the state starting out early. We left at 8am and stopped in Salt Lake to see my college roommate. We ate at Cafe Rio and chat for a little bit, at least until the kids were done talking and ready to get to Bear Lake. We made it up to Bear Lake by about 4:30 after stopping in Logan for a few groceries. It was nice when we had everything all packed up to the condo.
The thing I loved about this trip is that the kids were able to go off and do things by themselves and not need me there with them. They were quite often at the pool or down playing chess or mini golfing or at the park. It really was great. They were also able to watch the movie played at the resort down by the park. It was "Ready Player One" and they loved it. They also did the midnight madness golfing - basically unlimited mini golf. They played bingo. It was really a great trip for the kids. And there was no problem sleeping haha
When we did venture out of the resort (which was very little), the kids still had fun. We did a bike ride into Garden City to get a shake. Kayleeya was our only casualty - the bike she was borrowing had the little foot pedals that she couldn't figure out. The rest of the clan did great on the 3 mile bike ride. It was nice to have Grandma and Grandpa meet us there so when the kids didn't finish their shakes they could drive them back to the freezer instead of throwing them away. We also went to the ice caves in Paris again. The kids had so much fun climbing the rocks and down into the room back there. Then a highlight (at least for Colten) would be the go-karts. This year we had a group so it was a little more fun. I wouldn't know though - I was standing on the sidelines taking pictures.
I think that this summer has been one of the bests in quite a while and hopefully the kids had fun. The kids went back to their dad's for a little bit to finish out his time for the summer.

The rest of the family arrived throughout the evening. We took Oaklee to the park so her parents could unpack.
We spent time at the beach and on boats tubing. Both of the kids loved tubing. I went once with Colten and Erin. I was bouncing around everywhere and eventually fell off. Kevin was driving and said he has never seen anyone bounce as much as me. He said it didn't matter where he went, he could drive straight and I would bounce. Haha lucky me :) Colten did get tossed off once - that I saw anyway.
The resort had a couple of activities throughout the week. We did the s'mores when they had them. We went to the pancake breakfast and hot dogs. The kids loved playing chess over at the store, especially against Grandpa.
