Monday was a day off of school as it was President's Day. The kids had slept over at Darcee's on Sunday night so I went and picked them up in that morning. It had snowed the night before...I guess St. George weather is joining the rest of the world with weird weather. I remember that it snowed last year on President's Day so it might as well snow this one haha. The kids and I just had a chill day. We watched a couple of movies and played a couple of games. I introduced Space Jam to the kids....Colten was on the edge of his chair at the end to see what happens lol. Aspen joined me that night at the single's ward FHE dinner. It was catered from Honolulu Grill with left over Crumbl cookies. Overall, it was a great day off of work and school.
On Wednesday night, I got to accompany Aspen to Young Women's where we learned about the Personal Progress program. It has changed quite a bit since I was a young women. We'll have a little work to do before the church changes the program lol But I learned why Aspen loves Young Women's so much...they have yummy treats. They did a s'mores bar where you had all the fixings for different types of s'mores...marshmellows, regular chocolate, Ande's mints, coconuts, caramels, Reese's peanut butter cups...yummy indeed.
So a huge snow storm was predicted to come Wednesday night and drop 3-7 inches over the next day. So St. George was trying to prepare the residents for it. The school district sent out messaging telling parents they are watching what is going on and will make a decision Thursday morning. We did get snow (a wet snow) and school got delayed 2 hours. That was fun to try and coordinate with the kids because I still had my classes at the regular time. But the kids made it to school and had a good day playing in the snow. Most of the snow melted by that evening. Only the shadow places still have snow. (most of the pictures of St. George came from friend's photos - I didn't venture too far out)
Friday was an exciting day for me. I took the day off from work and went to Las Vegas with Hollee to go to the Backstreet Boys concert. I loved that after we checked into the hotel we just both laid on the beds for about 2 hours just relaxing. The concert was starting at 10pm Utah time, after our normal bedtime lol. But eventually we got up and headed over to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner before the concert. I love that both of us know that anytime we go to Vegas, we know where we will be eating lol. The food was delish and the cheesecake was oh so good. I definitely needed (or so I tell myself) that I needed the sugar boost to make it through the concert.
It was so fun for me to watch Hollee as the concert started. Backstreet Boys is her teenage boy band and seeing them in concert was a dream of hers. I am glad that I was able to see her smile as she watched them perform. Actually at one point in the concert, they came out in the crowd and we ended up being 3 rows from Brian. Hollee kind of flipped out at that point. The concert was good and they sang a lot of their older songs with just 2 songs from their new album. They still dance as they used to. It didn't take me long to fall asleep that night lol. Hollee said I was out fast. We headed home when we woke up. I love that we had a total of 4 hours in the car and we never ran out of things to talk about. Great sister bonding. Can't wait for our next adventure.
I went and picked up my kids from Darcee (who was so awesome to watch my kids while I went to the concert) and we headed home. I worked on getting the house cleaned up after I went to the gym (remember Cheesecake Factory dinner from the night before lol). I haven't had the motivation to do much cleaning lately but I love having a clean house (it's still not perfect but better than it has been).
I went out for a little bit that night. Took Cole out to dinner for his birthday and then we stopped by a little get together at Katy's house. It was just what was needed after a day cleaning. But the more impressive thing is that when I got home I had two loads of laundry that I actually put away before heading to bed. The kids crashed early that night (think they had a long night at Darcee's) so they were in bed before I even got home.
All in all it was a great week full of fun and snow. This next week is also packed with activities so it should be another great week.
