Last Sunday, the kids and I made our weekly trip over to the grandparents house for Sunday dinner. Lucky for the kids, Darcee's kids were there also. I love that they love playing with their cousins so much. Things were normal...they played a game of Thunder Road...went outside to play...started arguing and complaining...normal. Aspen and I were also able to watch "Once Upon a Time" while grandma went to a choir practice. But on the way, Aspen and Colt were just going at it. So when we got home I made them touch noses and say 3 nice things about the other one. Such a mean mom...I know.
It was a pretty normal week for us except that Colt's first baseball game of the week was canceled due to rain. He didn't care though...he was having fun playing out in the rain with the neighborhood kids. I sure love that we now live in a neighborhood with kids the same age. It will be a long summer for the neighborhood kids without my kiddos here.
Aspen had her two softball games and played well in both. She hit every time she was up and scored a run or two. In Colt's game, he did awesome as well. I love how the kids grow so much during the season and that they love playing the game. Colt has come a long way in not focusing on the score of the game. Because he is playing against classmates, it is hard not to be competitive...especially when the classmates want to be competitive. And Aspen just loves playing...she doesn't keep track of scores or anything.
Colt has been doing a butterfly unit in school so his cocoon finally turned into a butterfly and he brought it home to release it. I didn't get a good picture but it still counts.
On Friday, I was able to take Aspen to Wal-Mart while Colt was at karate. She had ordered a cat costume with a gift card that she received for her birthday. She has been wanting a costume for awhile and her friend knew that. She said..."Now you can get your cat costume". Well she had a little money left over and of course it was burning a hole in her pocket. But I was really impressed with how she spent it. She was able to get two movies and a treat.

On Saturday, I was able to go to the temple in the morning and then came home to do some major cleaning. The kids hardly ever want to help with the cleaning. But I got the bright idea to rearrange my front room so that got me and them distracted for a little bit. But the kids finally got all their chores done and were allowed to go on their electronics for a little bit. Then when their friends came out they were able to play with them. I had to run a quick errand and when I came back there were more than my two kids inside watching a movie. It was fun to have a couch full of kids getting along and enjoying the movie. Although I started to get nervous when the otter pops came out. I had just cleaned after all.
And today is Mother's Day. Colt made me a place mat with a picture he drew of me playing football (it is awesome) and Aspen got me a thing of twizzlers. Love my kids and so happy I get to be their mom.
