Slow but awesome week :)

With the kids off to their dad's it makes for a very quiet time at home.  I have started volunteering up at Tuacahn in the evenings to earn points for tickets for the kids to see the shows.  I love having this opportunity to serve.  I have run into some old friends and get to say hi.  The only down side is that the show runs later than my bedtime haha.  I am surviving though.

Work for me consisted of completing a few items on the checklist.  So I have pretty much been done with work since Tuesday.  I have gone to the temple and run some errands.

On Friday, I had the wonderful opportunity to go to Las Vegas to see the "Hamilton" play with Hollee.  My colleague, Amber, had two extra tickets and they didn't cost a fortune so we had a girls evening.  I booked us a room for the night, thought it was a hotel - nope it was a hostel.  I had no idea what a hostel was.  Our room had 3 sets of bunk beds...luckily it was private so it was just the two of us.  I told Hollee that is what she gets for having me book the room.   I did ask her which place she wanted to go with - she said the one with the higher review rating.  I don't think she is going to let me book a room again though.  We did make it to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner before the show.  It was the first time I enjoyed the food aspect of Cheesecake Factory.  I got a chicken pot pie and it was delish.  Hollee couldn't quit raving about her chicken parmesan.  Hollee ordered a cheesecake for Jonah's birthday before heading out.  I opted to not order a cheesecake - that's a first :)

The play was AMAZING!  I have been listening to the soundtrack since September but it was great to see actors play it out.  The actors did a tremendous job.  The actor (who was actually the understudy) for King George was fabulous.  He is not the star actor but he won me over.

Other than that, I have just filled my time cleaning the house, Tuacahn and exercising.  This next week I will be getting packed up for our trip to Indiana to visit Terri and Tom.  The kids and I are both excited to go.  So the next post will be a lot longer - not only from the trip but because the kids will have returned.

Week up north

Man I have seen more of I-15 than I want too...haha...but it was a good week up at Stansbury Park and at the end of school meetings.

Last Sunday, I went with Bob and Marilyn up to the Tooele cemetery to put flowers on graves.  I have never done the whole Memorial Day thing that Utah does.  I was able to visit Grandma and Grandpa Stewart.  We drove by Grandma and Grandpa's old house that is for sale.  Sure wish I could buy it.  Lots of memories there.  Then I went out to Grantsville for the first time in my life for Bob to put flowers on his grandparents grave.  Probably be the last time I go to Grantsville...not much to it haha.

On Monday (Memorial Day), Marilyn came with me to go visit Grandma Chris and Carol.  The Bountiful cemetery was busy but luckily my memory wasn't that bad.  It was nice to see the graves and say hi.  We also stopped by Connie's to say hi! That evening we went up to Kevin's house for dinner and to celebrate his birthday.  He showed us pictures from the Rome trip he just took.

Tuesday I went back to work on Marilyn's table haha.  Then that afternoon/evening I hung out with Kyle.  He was trying to get his garden area ready for planting.  Then we went up the canyon so he could burn some wood.  He stayed the night but I headed back to a bed.  It was fun hanging out with him and catching up.

Wednesday brought a little bit of work.  Then in the afternoon Marilyn showed me Stansbury lake.  I never knew that Stansbury has always had this man made lake where people can go swimming and take little boats.  We got a shaved ice while there.  That evening we went up to Tooele to pick up a graduation card and eat at Costa Vida.

Thursday and Friday brought on the work meetings so I said my good bye's and thank you's and headed into the big city.  It was fun to see colleagues, celebrate this past year and to get planning for next year.  Amber Bundy asked for a ride back to St. George so it was nice to have someone to talk with on the long drive home.

Saturday I spent catching up on laundry, going to the temple and getting some food in my house.  I also volunteered at Tuacahn for my first night.  I have quite a few more shifts this next week.  Got to earn those points to get the kids to the shows.

I've talked to the kids a few times.  Sounds like they are having fun.  They got the playground put together so I think they are having fun with that.
