So last Friday we started off Spring Break by having Colt go sleep at Uncle Jay's house. He was super excited to play the XBox while there. And apparently that is what they did. Uncle Jay said that they XBoxed it up til 2am. But I didn't notice anything until Saturday night. David's parents came down for the weekend. They joined us in the morning and then at Colten's soccer game. Colt was super excited for his game, he scored the first goal of the season. He had another goal that game and a couple of assists. He is becoming quite the soccer player. Saturday evening, we all went to the spiny park and had pizza, by we I mean David's parents, Julie, Shari and her family, Darcee and her family and then my family. The kids had fun playing at the park while the adults enjoyed talking. Then after the park a few of us went back to my parents house to watch "Catching Fire".
Monday we were going to go to the children's museum but it is not open to the public on Mondays. So we ended up having a picnic at the park. While there, there was a small car accident so how it got resolved was quite amusing to us older folk. Then Aspen had gymnastics that night and I went to pick up Shari's kids for them to have a sleep over at our house. We went to McDonald's for dinner and then headed home. The kids played for awhile and I called it a night once my kids were in bed. The older kids stayed up for who knows how long.
Tuesday we finally made it to the children's museum. The kids had a blast. There were so many things for them to do. I had only planned on being there like an hour but we pushed two and only left because I was hungry. Then Shari came and got all the kids and took them to her house to play for a little bit. I got some peace and quiet before taking off for more errands.
Wednesday was a relaxing day. The kids and I went for a walk down to the Bluff Street park. Colten and Aspen rode their bikes while Alyssa and Alanah rode the motor scooters and Austin rode his skateboard.
Thursday was spent getting ready for our vacation. We got everybody all packed. I went over to Jay's house to get the car top carrier. Once David got home from work, we headed down to Mesquite for dinner. We were able to get a nice dinner before heading out to Las Vegas. Once we got to Vegas, we went and picked up Baylee from her bus. She had spent the week in California with her singing group, Vista Rising Stars. She got to do some workshops with Disney show performers and then actually perform on the Disney stage. She said that the trip was fun and she had a good time. After getting her, we headed to our hotel and settled in for the night.
Friday was spent at the Adventuredome in Circus Circus. My kids and I had never been there before but David and his kids had. They all were super excited for it. Colt was extremely disappointed that he couldn't go on the big roller coasters. That kids is a freaking daredevil. David and I took my kids on a few rides and then Celise took them for awhile so we could ride the coasters. After we had spent a couple of hours there, David, Celise, my kids and I went back to our hotel for lunch and some rest. Austin, Baylee and the twins stayed to continue riding rides. While at the hotel, we relaxed and I took the kids swimming for a little bit. The pool was nice and cool but the hot tub wasn't too bad so that is where most of the people were. After swimming, we headed back to the dome for more fun. We ended up staying til 10 and although Colt would have stayed til they closed, he was tired.
The kids were worn out both at Grandma's and then the next night. Colt was watching Thor with me but didn't make it.

On Saturday, we went shopping at the premium outlets, went to Bass Pro Shop to look at the fish and then to a park to eat our lunch. The kids were pretty worn out so they just wanted to head back to Mesquite for the night. When we got there, we all went down to the pool but ended up in the hot tubs. Baylee, Alyssa, Alanah, Austin, Colt and David were all brave and jumped in the freezing pool at least once. Aspen would put her feet in but never went further than that. And me and Celise were wise enough to stay in the hot tub, which was more like a warm bath. On Sunday we got up got breakfast and headed home. All in all, it was a great vacation and great Spring Break. Unfortunately, reality is back tomorrow but at least now we are refreshed a little.
