The week started with Colten heading off to boys camp. They had a good group of deacons go and I was planning on driving up to get Colten on Wednesday for football practice but that all changed when we found out that a truck transmission blew and a couple of tires on the trailer blew. So the camp ended up being in the front yard of Bro Hardy's house and the leaders were still able to have some fun activities for the boys. Colten said they went down to the Virgin River, a couple of different spots, and tried river wars. Then they went on a hike up in Colorado City that Colten would like to go back to again. They broke camp on Wednesday so I just picked him up and got him off to practice. We had lightening in the area so practice was indoors and then Thursday's was canceled. But he is working hard to study his plays.
Saturday morning we headed out bright and early to make it to Enterprise for the Pioneer Day parade. The kids were able to collect some candy. Then the adults went to watch Nash play in a basketball 3 on 3 tournament while the kids played games. Then Curt made some pretty amazing hamburgers for everyone and the kids played with water balloons (outside of course). Kim suggested that we walk down to the snow shack and get some shaved ice. Zac rode a bike instead. Then we finished out the day there by watching some Olympics and and ESPN 20 on 30 about Bo Jackson. It was a great time up at Enterprise.
I had about 20 mins at home before heading out for the sister date with Hollee. We grabbed something to eat at Costa Vida before heading over to our concert. We had about 30 minutes to kill before the show started so we tried to do a picture war with Zac (poor boy). We got some awesome pictures of us and he just didn't catch on. He sent us pictures of his green light on his gun, the cross arrows of his scope but he did send one of him and the Reese's he had bought. We gave up and just talked. The concert was Vegas McGraw, a tribute band to Tim McGraw. He did a pretty good job at playing the hits of Tim. Hollee and I had fun singing along with his songs. It was a great way to end the 24th of July!
And so the picture war began lol
