I mean nothing against March but it has been a long one for me this year. Not having Spring Break until April usually means a long March for me. Hey but at least we are not in quarantin like we were last year.
This past week has been pretty good, a normal one. The weather started out colder but ended up in the 70s by the end of the week.
Aspen is still enjoying her tech after school. I have no idea what she is doing but she seems to enjoy it. On Wednesday she participated in the Art Festival at the High School and got to miss a day of school to paint. While she didn't get a ribbon she said that she learned what to do next year for the festival.
Colten's one-touch football league is gearing up for their season to start in April. He enjoys doing football again with other people since throwing the football to himself isn't fun.
Annika and Channing enjoy spending Tuesday afternoon's with Raven and we got an additional treat by having Oaklee and Raven on Wednesday afternoon. The weather had gotten warmer since Tuesday so I took all the littles down the trail to Confluence Park. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. I brought up the rear with Raven and ended up carrying her at the very end (steepest part) where luckily we saw her mom pull up.
Friday was a pretty chill day for us. Colten and Tashlee went and played with Angel most of the afternoon. We did eat our dinner on the floor in the front room since our table is currently occupied with a 40 gallon tank that is being worked on. Annika and Channing were able to start "Honey I shrunk the kids" after their showers. I relaxed on my bed catching up on TV shows.
Saturday we got up early and headed over to my parents to help clean up their yard. Dad had rented some equipment to help. Jay and Darcee were over on Friday night and started trimming the palm trees. When we arrived on Saturday we started moving said palm trees to the trailer. Then the kids were divided up to conquer tearing bushes out of the ground. Justyn and Trent were there in the morning for a little bit and worked on removing dirt from the front area. Zac and I ended up going to Home Depot to buy a few tools that were needed. Zac ended up taking over Justyn's job and got the front area ready for concrete. Aspen and Tashlee got one of the big pine bushes in the backyard taken out (all by the roots). Colten and Jeramiah removed quite a few and dug a couple of holes. Everyone helped move palm trees to trailers. Annika and Channing spent the whole day playing with Oaklee and Raven. Grandma even walked them over to the park while Raven was napping. Darcee provided donuts in the morning, Hollee and I made crack chicken for lunch then Hollee and Grandma did sloppy joes and mashed potatoes for dinner. The boys tried to dump the trailers at the dump but apparently it closes at 3 on Saturday (what the??) so while we were waiting for my dad and Jonah to show back up, Jay took some of the kids on a "ride" on the lift thingy. He got Jeramiah to scream like a girl a few times. The other's were prepared for it so no screaming but you could tell that they were scared. Tash and Aspen went up together and were just chilling the whole time. As we started to eat dinner, Raven decided to throw up and kept throwing up for a while (on and off). Hollee and Jonah were in a hurry to get her home so I ended up bringing some of the left over food to her. It was a great day filled with love and laughter and work. We made a huge dent in the yard although there is still much more.
